Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Charming Coastal Casa on Beaufort's Battery Creek has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
