How to get the best Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
