Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
