Fripp Island vacation rental home tips:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Fripp Island. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3 Kingfisher - New to VRBO! Guest Cards Always Included has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
