Fripp Island rental property booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by having your group commit to a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beachfront Home, Pet Friendly, Golf Cart Included, Overlooking the Atlantic, 706 Red Drum has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
