Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. Reserve your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. DIRECT BEACH FRONT\/OCEAN FRONT. John Fripp Villa 101 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
