Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated listing! Cottage on Broad has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
