Fripp Island rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a max budget.

- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it.
