Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
