Strategies for getting the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Water Views, Huge Yard, Boat Dock, Private, Quiet, Minutes to Beaufort has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
