Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to visit Fripp Island & When to reserve a Fripp Island rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Castaway Cottage - pet friendly, close to beach access, golf cart included has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
