Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Beaufort, SC vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly, 6-seat Golf Cart included has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips to have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
