Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Fripp Island vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. The Misty Breeze! Cabana Club, Ocean View, Golf Cart has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
