Strategies for getting the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the perfectrental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. A Wave From It All - 7 Fiddlers Reach has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
