Tips for getting the perfect Port Royal vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 16th and Paradise - 2 Miles From Parris Island! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
