Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Beaufort, SC rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your prefect Beaufort, SC vacation home:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 18 Veranda Beach Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
