Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:
When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the right Beaufort, SC rental:

- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 411 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
