Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Beaufort, SC rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Beaufort, SC rental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 411 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
