Strategies to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Bungalow by the Bay in Beautiful Beaufort South Carolina has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
