Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Start by having your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Fabulous 4 Bedroom 3 bath home on Fripp Island,SC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
