Beaufort, SC vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Planning and picking your Beaufort, SC rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Paradise! Oceanview and minutes walk to pools, dining, and more! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
