Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the best vacation home in Port Royal:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Port Royal Paradise (minutes from Parris Island and downtown Beaufort) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
