Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Marsh Cottage - Centrally Located to Amenities in Habersham has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
