Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, SC restaurants and activities.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Lakefront, Golf Cart Included, Pet Friendly - 259 Deer Run has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
