Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book your prefect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Private, Golf Cart Included, Pets Considered Sea Island Escape has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC destination you long to visit, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
