Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spectacular Ocean Front Bedroom Views - 626 Newhaven has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
