Fripp Island vacation rental home tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Beaufort, SC rental home:
- First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Stunning Custom Designed Home, Private Pool w\/water slide and Hot tub, 518 Remora Circle has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
