Our top Vacation rental tips:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, change your family's Beaufort, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Stunning Custom Designed Home, Private Pool w\/water slide and Hot tub, 518 Remora Circle has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
