Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental:
- To start, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Superior King Room at The Emerald has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
