Tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the right Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. **The Caddy's Shack** Golf Cart Included and Club Cards has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
