Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- To start, have your family select a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 18 Fiddlers Cove - Resort and Golf Cart Access Always Included! has 5 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
