Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 601 Dolphin Road - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
