Tips for getting the best Fripp Island vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book your Beaufort, SC rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Renovated, Steps from Beach, Amenity Cards, Golf Cart has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
