Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.

  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
