Booking the best Fripp Island vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 87 Ocean Creek - Canal w\/Shared Dock has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
