Booking the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Start by having your group select dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful Bungalow! 10min to Beach. 5 miles-Paris Isl\/Walk to Marina\/Shop\/Dining has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
