Rental booking tips:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Modern Comfort in the desirable Mossy Oaks neighborhood with many upgrades! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC beach you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
