Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront, perfect mid-island location, golf cart included - 717 Winter Trout has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
