Tips to get the perfect Fripp Island rental experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spectacular Oceanfront Home! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
