Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stylish Downtown Gem w\/BeachPass has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
