Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Minutes to Parris Island w\/Pool and 2 Master Bdr has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
