Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Beaufort, SC vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Waterfront Property with Million Dollar Sunset Views!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
