Tricks and tips for getting the best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. “What a View!” Pet Friendly - Amazing marsh views, Golf cart included - 160 Davis Love has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
