How to get the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • First, have your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Fripp Island Condo Overlookig the Ocean! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
