Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 389 Wahoo Drive - Resort Access and Golf Cart Included with this rental! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
