Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the best vacation rental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Flash Sale Select Days\/Weeks Oceanfront! ScreenPorch! Sleeps 14! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
