Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To get the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, The Boathouse has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
