Tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sand In My Boots, Minutes to Parris Island & Beaufort and the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
