Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 27 Sea Mist - Scenic Marsh Views - Owner Cart Included has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
