Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Stunning Custom Designed Home, Private Pool w\/water slide and Hot tub, 518 Remora Circle has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
