Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Fripp Island rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book a perfectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Secluded + Pet-Friendly Beach Cottage: Can Add Cards at Cost, No Extra Tax! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
